I'm wondering what's going on with moderation myself now. Last night I updated a sysmetrix skin,"TheKnight". I updated it because of a special request by a citizen. I included a 800x600 version of the skin which I had to resize every image(including animations), even completely redo a image that looked lousy resized because of text, adjust file names so it wouldn't crash when switching the two versions and a few other things. So, I checked the update date too.

But, when it reappeared, there was no update date at all. The original upload date is the same as the update date. I know that it was waiting approval last night and I see that the author information has changed so it was updated. But why is the date the same? Is this a honest mistake by the moderators, or is something "hokey-pokey" going on? I spent a lot of time updating this and I would like people to see the date change in case they wanted this version. Was it not changed because it would move it forward in the pages? I'm wondering. The date should be created - 5/22/03, updated - 5/26/03. What's going on, this time?

White_Moth: Only Admins are using HTML because they are beta testing it. It will be made available to members shortly. You make think that this is offensive, but like you stated "Remember, no matter how smart you think you are - your not." and "It is always easier to find fault than to find solutions, let us all work harder, and together."

White_Moth: You forgot the melodrama. Statements like "Just a few more things to think about, otherwise I see Wincustomize becoming just like "all the rest", and therefore not deserving of my continued support." is exactly that.

A lot of these threads have a scheme like "If you will not comply then I will go". Sometimes additional emotional blackmail is added to make it more of a melodrama.

Wait a minute. This is worse than I thought. You said "Plus, the html use by the admins ect may be cute, but I find it offensive." That means you implicitely state that there is a intentional misconduct. Then you threaten to go when this will not be changed with "therefore not deserving of my continued support."

You are doing the same as the guy who started the thread.

It is sad, Madice. Nothing positive to add, instead you just try to stir up things. Is that making things better for anyone?

Maybe you just don't care about anyones feelings but your own. That is common here it seems, but it makes for a cruel shallow community and a even more shallow/cruel world. If you can't help or say anything nice why not just keep quiet, instead of making things worse or stirring things up?

Nevermind forget everything I just said, your name says it all. You're Madice you like it when things are stirred up. .

Well, there are some rules. And threads like these all behave the same. So they are easy to recognize.

Do not check first if the problem is real or not (otherwise we have no fun at all).
Post that problem (use a catchy subject).
Make sure that you implicitely state there is an intentional misconduct.
Threaten that you will leave if this will not be changed.
If proven untrue then try to twist the words and use emotional blackmail wherever you can.
Use personal attacks where ever you can.
If there is no way out then act like a victim, change your nick and leave.

Some of the above rules may or may not apply to this thread

Wow, "MemberGone", that shows that you don't know MadIce at all. "MadIce" sounds like how his name, Matthijs, is pronounced.

Why do people who complain about others complaining about others keep complaining?

And, why are you "MemberGone" if you're not?

As far as I know, there is no point to this thread what-so-ever except for people trying to one up eachother.  The original post was about update dates.  The bug concerning that has been fixed, so there is no reason for continued discussion.

MG, you clearly are sensitive by nature....about your own feelings. Others can pretty much shift for themselves, eh?

That's sad. And how telling it is of so many things to come in these terrible, terrible times. Think of the children and how one should be setting an example to be outwardly engaged and empathetic, not solopsistically self absorbed using one's emotive capacities as a reason to refrain from engaging in rational mature discourse and utilizing the self restraint that is normally required in such discourse. Yea, always the cry that one must express oneself without restraint or discipline although it alas it is all too true that in the cruel, shallow and uncaring world such a course often tramples blithely on others' sensitivities and emotions and indeed might gain one a punch in the nose or at least frequent bouts of unemployment. (People can be like *so* not understanding of others needs to be free, free, free to express themselves. *shakes head sadly*) But verily, it is a truism also indeed that aggrandizement of self over others and manners is nowt but the first teetering step down the path to monomaniacism and inevitable pooterhood. (and that's not good.)

Wnat, after all one well might ask, is this world coming to, given the easy inroads made into our civilization in these troubled terrible times by such shallow incitements and the unthinking need to defend one's folly against all comers, sense (and sensibility)? Sad, sad indeed.

Nay, these are but naysayers, insensitve clods, philistines and brazen topers, unworthy of the magnamimous breathments of such an unsullied soul. Spill not one's fruitful seed upon such barren ground. Fly, fly, fly to more temperate and welcoming climes, where the naysaying negabobs shall seek ye not to soil yon vestments with their natterings and splatterings. (Or stay and gather ye umbrages as ye may.)

KarmaGirl, If there is no discussion about a problem then how does the problems get resolved to make it better for the entire community?

Madice, If you look at my initial comment, it asked if there was a legitimate impersonal error or if there was something else going on. Of course, this board jumped on the negative, started slamming and bashing, instead of just saying there was a mistake and seeking ways to fairly resolve it. This makes one become defensive. Then, came the attacks, like your comments which don't help anything, and that makes things even worse. I guess this is the same with the entire world. When there is a problem, the people responsible become defensive, start slamming and bashing and force others to question personal motives and actual objective. When they have enough, they leave. Life is just too short. Otherwise, what happens here, as I have seen, the person gets angry and really starts defending himself/herself, and ends up being banned because "he/she" is such a "bad person". When in actuality they are only defending themselves. Before that happened, I decided to leave. Life is just too short. I have better things to do with my time than being bashed and slammed. I've been told that some people have actually comtemplated suicide because they care so much about this site and skinning. For me it is just not worth it. So, I leave. End of thread for me now, end of story.
KarmaGirl, I'm gone. It is clear how this site wants to operate. And I won't disturb that anymore. Sorry for the inconvenience. I won't respond to the slamming and bashing anymore and I'll accept your comments and opinions that I am such a bad person. Although, I don't agree with it. I hope you will at least let me retain that feeling about myself.
I guess I am just one of "those kind of people" who wants peace, love and understanding in the world. And it seems a futile pursuit here.

In closing, I would like to thank those people who showed me love.
(((HUGS)))
I won't forget your kindness, and eventually I believe you will be rewarded, even if not in this world.

MadIce points to the word "victim".

GM is lying about that....I'm actually one of those evil admins who are hell-bent on making life a misery for everyone.....ain't that right, Diane?...

Sometimes it might feel that way...
For me at least...
But it is not true. Love ya Jafo. Thabks for kepping it real.

It looks as though my point has been proved well enough.
I never said I would leave, but I will deeply consider renewing my subscription, after all, it is my money, money that I work hard for.

See above reference to "email admins"

I have never said that you were a bad person.  If you think that, then you are wrong.  Re-read what I have said.  My point was about the fact that you changed your nick to "MemberGone" then kept posting.  I am sure that even you can see the irony in that.

As I said before, this matter is closed.  The bug was fixed.  The only things that are now being said have nothing to do with the original issue.  I suggest that any additional correspondence be made by email.  No more drama is needed.
